Another week, another group of podcasts and articles to read and listen to that I have dived into. Like every other week, there was a ton of content out there both in written form and through podcasts. Enjoy! Podcasts As always, there wasn't a lack of good and quality content in the podcast world. I … Continue reading S&C Week in Review

Seated Box Jump
Developing power doesn’t need to be complicated. The Seated Box Jump is a simple way to develop power with the added benefit/challenge of creating that power without the stretch shortening cycle. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TH57I9NGPV0
To Catch or Not Catch?
Lot of debate lately about catching Olympic lifts, specifically the Hang Clean. We catch. I think there is some benefit to not only creating force via Olympic lifts but also being able to absorb the force and decelerate the weight from and injury prevention standpoint 🤷♂️ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVV9OulCSyg

Pressing with Volleyball
🗣 Unpopular opinion ➡️ I don’t straight bar bench press 🏐 players. Ever. Inverted Row Do’s and Don’ts
The Ring/TRX/Strap Row (whatever toy call it) may be my favorite upper body pulling movement but one that may technique flaws are often seen. Don’t ❌ Sag the hips. ❌ Over extend at the low back. ❌ Poke the head through. Instead, ✅ Move the scapula through a full range of motion. ✅ Keep the … Continue reading Inverted Row Do’s and Don’ts
Reactive Band Broad Jump
We perform a lot of band resisted broad jumps to develop horizontal power. Recently we’ve been playing around with adding a little mini bounce to make it more reactive, placing it on days when we may be looking for shorter impulse times. Give it a try and see how you like it! https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2GXqa0Dturs
