Happy Monday! Here are a few thoughts bouncing around in my head after a week of reading, podcasts, cruising social media and any other continuing ed. Enjoy!
- Corrective exercise has its place and can be extremely beneficial for many athletes and clients. However, corrective exercise isn’t going to prepare you for the demands of sport or life. At some point you have to get strong.
- Melanie Redd posted this following statement on Twitter, a statement that I 100% agree with. “Single leg training has been one of the most influential things I’ve implemented over the years. I’ve gone from using it as an accessory to bilateral low body work to the focus of low body work. Bilaterals are becoming the accessory.”
- Coaching 101: Be someone that everyone else wants to be around. The rest will take care of itself.
- In my opinion, too many strength coaches just program what it is that they liked to do, which isn’t necessarily what the athletes they coach should be doing.
