Monday Musings

Happy Monday and Happy Memorial Day weekend, which was absolutely beautiful here in the northeast.

That being said, here are a few thoughts bouncing around in my head after a week of reading, podcasts, cruising social media and any other continuing ed. Enjoy!

hello monday

  1. Don’t chase big numbers in the weight room, chase perfect form. Movement first. Volume second. Load third. As Dr. John Rusin once said, “Poor form and ego driven loading are responsible for a majority of training injuries.”
  2. Good friend Jimmy Buckley said this on twitter and I couldn’t agree more; “I think strength and conditioning can be overly complex sometimes. Move well. Move a lot. Move fast. Monitor accordingly. Make adjustments if need be.”
  3. Core stability > core strength.
  4. Oftentimes rehab is as simple as just training around an injury. Our bodies have an incredible way of getting better on their own. Be patient, keep working and don’t overcomplicate things. – Teddy Willsey
