Monday Musings

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

That being said, here are a few thoughts bouncing around in my head after a week of reading, podcasts, cruising social media and any other continuing ed. Enjoy!

hello monday

  1. Always hammer the fundamentals. No matter how advanced you think the people you work with are, they’ll benefit from doing the basics savagely well.
  2. Unpopular opinion – from a fundamental movement perspective, a push up is more important then a bench press. And push ups can be loaded and pushed much more then people realize.
  3. The way you train reflects the way you fight. People say I’m not going to train too hard, I’m going to do this in training, but when it’s time to fight I’m going to step up. There is no step up. You’re just going to do what you did every day. – George St. Pierre
  4. Brad Stulberg posted this on Twitter last week and I had to share it, because it’s 100% true. He wrote, “Here’s a hack. Walk. Hands down, one of the best forms of exercise there is, Accessible for most people, Inexpensive, Easy to self-regulate pace, Low injury risk, Pretty much as good as anything for physical and mental health, great for creativity.”
