Monday Musings

Happy Monday from Bermuda and hope every one enjoyed the weekend.

That being said, here are a few thoughts bouncing around in my head after a week of reading, podcasts, cruising social media and any other continuing ed. Enjoy!

hello monday

  1. I know this is a tough pill for many coaches to swallow, but there is very little correlation between sagittal plane and rotational plane power. If you want to develop rotational power, you have to train it. If you think cleans and snatches are going to develop a stronger golf or baseball swing, shot in hockey, or throw in baseball, you need to reconsider some things.
  2. The great strength coaches already know this, but if you really want to succeed as a strength coach, you need to put as much time into both communication and/or people skills as you do programming or sets & reps. Coaching is a people business.
  3. “Am I doing it wrong?” If you’ve never asked this question…… you’re doing it wrong. – John Cena on Twitter
  4. “Be tolerant with others and strict with yourself.” – Marcus Aurelius
