S&C Week in Review: 8/18

Just like every other Sunday, we have another group of podcasts and articles to read and listen to that I have dived into. Like every other week, there was a ton of content out there both in written form and through podcasts. Enjoy!

Weekend Review

Been trying to listen to more non-strength and conditioning podcast the last couple weeks, and I’ve been on a little Lewis Howes/School of Greatness kick lately. I really enjoyed both of the podcasts with Brendon Burchard were awesome. Highly recommend consuming both Brendon Burchard’s and Lewis Howes content.

Since its about that time of the year, I think the article that Bob Alejo wrote on In-Season training is a must read. The article is from a while back, but still holds true and is something that coaches need to read.

Just finished listening to this one, and Brendon Burchard is someone that I will be consuming more content from. The book is all about self-development, giving people the framework to change their lives for the better.

Volleyball Training Tip Day 8️⃣ of 3️⃣0️⃣ ➖🔷 KB Bottoms Up Tall Kneel to Stand 🔷. ▫️ . I’ve posted this before, but this is one of our unconventional shoulder health movements, the Kettlebell Bottoms Up Tall Kneel to Stand. We used this at various points throughout the year as a filler between sets of compound lifts, but it could also be used as part of a total body warm up if toy wanted. ▫️ . With this movement we get ⬇️. ▫️ . ✅ Reflexive Rotator Cuff Recruitment. ▫️ . ✅ Total body Stability. ▫️ . ✅ Scap Upward Rotation. ▫️ . ✅ Probably a whole lot of other things. ▫️ . Don’t let @emilytanski fool you, it’s a lot more difficult then it looks.
