As a strength coach, you should be able to modify any activity or exercise that you perform to make it non-painful. For us, we have a couple athletes that present a little low back pain and/or discomfort with Trap Bar Deadlift and we simply swap the movement out for Skater Squats. Very similar shin angles. Very similar trunk angles. Zero low back pain from the movement the following days.
