5 Ways to Level Up in 2020

Now that we are a month into 2020 and a lot of the newness of those New Years Resolution has worn off, I thought it would a good time to highlight a few ways that we can all make our lives better, productive and take our well-being to the next level going forward.

1. Get More Sleep

A lot of people like to claim that they can get by on 5 hours of sleep. That they can grind their way through the week with less sleep then everyone else.

These people are wrong.

Study after study shows the importance of sleep on almost every aspect of our health. I don’t think there is one other thing that can make a bigger and more positive impact on your life then getting a consistent 8 hours of sleep a night.

2. Make Better Nutritional Choices/Habits

You can work as hard as you want, but you can’t out exercise a terrible diet. If you want to achieve the goals you have for your health in the new year, making better nutritional choices on a consistent basis is huge.

And eating well isn’t all that complicated.

Eat like an adult. Fruits. Veggies. Lean cuts of protein. Healthy fats like nuts.

Do that every day and you’ll be just fine.

3. Find a Program and Stick to It

It’s hard to tell whether or not a program is working or not if you keep jumping from one program to the next every few weeks.

Find something that fits your schedule. Find something that will challenge you. And then stick to it for a couple months to figure out if it is actually working or not.

4. Be Patient

You didn’t get out of shape overnight and you aren’t going to get in shape overnight. Consistently do the right things and good things will eventually happen.

5. Have Specific Goals

Why are you training? Trying to get stronger? Leaner? Better cardiovascular health? Move better?

Why are you trying to sleep more and make better nutritional choices/habits? To live a long and healthy life? To drop a few pounds? To be able to play with your kids as they age?

The point is, you need clear cut goals to help push you and lead you throughout the process.
