Are Deadbugs Part of Your Core Training?

Deadbugs are one of my favorite anti-extension core exercises and are far more functional then something like a traditional crunch as they require you to stabilize the core while the arms and legs are moving…kind of like sport and life.

This is one of our more advanced variations where we are using a Kettlebell to engage the core a little more and a mini band to help engage the hip flexors a little more.

Programming Advice: 2-3 sets of 10-15 second holds on each side or 4-6 reps (alternating) on each side. You can also make the movement a little more beneficial by adding a long diaphragmatic exhale throughout each rep.
