Why Do WE Perform Contrast Training?

Potentiation, Manipulating the CNS & Enhanced Rate of Force Development.

When Do We Implement It in Our Program?

Usually on our second lift of the week (Wednesday) before a weekend of games.

How Do We Implement It in Our Program?

We pair a strength movement (Skater Squat) with a biomechanically similar power movement (Explosive Step Up), like the video.

What Are the Sets & Reps?

We usually perform 2-3 sets. The strength exercise will be between 2-5 reps and then the power exercise between 5-10 reps. Typically we shoot for 10-30 seconds of rest between the strength and power exercise.
