Random Thoughts: November Edition

Another month, another post full of random thoughts that have been going through my head. Hope it sparks a little thought in people and you enjoy!

  1. Why do people pull hamstrings? Weak glutes. Glutes and hamstrings that don’t work well together. Poor core/pelvic control. Not enough sprinting in the off-season.
  2. The thought that you need to feel like you got your ass kicked after each training session is a terrible way to look at training.
  3. Prioritize your health. You don’t really have much if you don’t have health.
  4. Rule #1 to coaching: don’t be an asshole.
  5. Surround yourself with people that push you to be better.
  6. Simple way to make any exercise more challenging and effective…stop going through the motions.
  7. Coaching 101: Actually care about the people you work with.
  8. There is a lot of value in listening to smart people that disagree with you.
  9. No matter what they goal is, consistency is the answer.
  10. Though your core has the ability to create motion, its real job is to resist motion. And your core training should reflect that.
