A question I get asked a lot ➡️ what weights do you recommend for med ball work with high school/college athletes❓
Though the weights may vary depending on the athlete, here are my general recommendations;
- Shot Puts ➡️ 2-6lbs
- Slams ➡️ 8-12lbs
- Overhead Throws ➡️ 4-6lbs
- Rotational Tosses ➡️ 6-8lbs
- Chest Passes ➡️ 8-12lbs
Like I said, these are just recommendations. Some athletes may be able to handle more and some may need less. The key is to make sure the movements look fast, athletic and powerful!
