How Do You Progress a Ring Row?

There are a lot of ways to progress the Ring Row, one of which is to turn it into a Kettlebell (or played in this example) Off-Set Single Arm Row.

  • More difficult because it is single arm
  • An added rotational core component
  • More upper back/posterior shoulder because of the added external load placed on the single arm.

All of this makes the movement a great exercise for all athletes, but especially athletes like hockey and volleyball that tend to have shoulder issues and would benefit from great upper back/posterior shoulder development.

By the way, I wrote an eBook all about progressions and regressions, which you can grab right here.
