Monday Musings

Happy Monday!

Like every other Monday, here are a few thoughts bouncing around in my head after a week of reading, podcasts, cruising social media and any other continuing ed.

Enjoy!

1. The best coaching strategy is actually care about the people you work with. You’ll be amazed how much harder athletes will work for you when you care about them.

2. Strong on two legs but weak on one is a great way to get injured. – Michael Boyle (@mboyle1959 on Twitter)

3. As I’ve said before, the Push Up is a completely under-utilized movement in most strength programs. I think it’s thought of this way because coaches/trainees don’t think it can be progressed much and/or you can’t get strong with the movement, which I’d disagree with. Loading the movement with plates and chains is not only a great way to build total body pressing strength but can be extremely challenging while being very shoulder friendly.

4. The best coaches slowly make themselves more and more obsolete. They develop independence in the people they work with. – Steve Magness (@SteveMagness on Twitter)

5. You don’t need a title to be a leader.
